Surf Club

Senegal boasts exceptional surfing conditions. Its geographical location and diverse coastline expose it to swells from both north and south. But despite this, the activity remains underdeveloped in the country: lack of funding for niche sports like surfing is a common problem in Senegal. Surfers also have great difficulty in finding local equipment (boards, wetsuits, accessories) at affordable prices.

Having your own board and winter wetsuit is a real privilege for local surfers.

The surf club strives to extend access to surfing, by providing children and youth with equipment and encouraging them to train regularly.

We strive to engage children and youth in surfing competitions both nationally and internationally, as we believe that competing is an excellent way to grow and learn how to handle defeats and victories.

We coach and give them physical and mental preparation such as competition scenarios and video analysis.

By taking part in competions, surfers learn to self-evaluate to reach their goals. They learn to focus, gain discipline and develop mental strength, skills that are useful in everyday life.

Traveling to international competitions is a significant aspect for many surfers, as it allows them to connect with other surfers who share their passion, enhance their communication skills, and open up new opportunities. We organise the trips, accompany them with the administrative procedures and cover their travel expenses.

Club champions are examples for the whole community and inspire the kids to aim higher.
