Partners
Since 2019, Surfkids Shredding Senegal has benefited from the invaluable support of committed partners who share our values and vision. Over the years, we have built strong relationships based on trust, respect and a common desire to promote inclusion through surfing. Thanks to these collaborations, our programme has been able to grow, offer better opportunities to young people and strengthen its social and environmental impact.
We would like to extend a huge thank you to all the companies, associations and individuals who have contributed, in one way or another, to this human and sporting adventure. Every bit of support, whether material, financial or logistical, plays an essential role in the progress of our young surfers.

Senegalese Surfing Federation
As the official body for surfing in Senegal, the Senegalese Surfing Federation supports Surfkids Shredding Senegal by facilitating the integration of young people into local and national competitions. It enables the young talents in the programme to develop their sporting skills, offering them a regulated framework and opportunities to progress through competitions and training.

African Surf Confederation
This international organisation opens the doors of African surfing to the young people in the Surfkids programme, enabling them to take part in international events and forge links with other young surfers from the continent. Thanks to this partnership, Surfkids benefits from recognition on an African scale, promoting cultural exchanges and development opportunities for young athletes.
Sunu Plage
A major player in ocean protection, Sunu Plage works with Surfkids to raise awareness of ecology among young surfers and get them actively involved in preserving their environment. Together, they regularly organise beach clean-up campaigns, educational workshops and concrete actions to protect the ocean, which is essential to their sporting activities.

Provide The Slide
This solidarity initiative collects used surfboards in Europe, restores them and redistributes them to young surf enthusiasts, particularly in Senegal. Thanks to this partnership, the young people in the Surfkids programme can benefit from adapted equipment without financial constraints, enabling them to surf regularly and in good conditions.
Janga
European surf brand, Janga supports Surfkids by providing quality wetsuits, surf equipment and gear to ensure the comfort and safety of young surfers. Thanks to this partnership, the young people in the programme can develop in optimal conditions, reinforcing their commitment and their progress in the discipline.

Wallien
Specialising in innovative, high-performance wetsuits, Wallien provides invaluable material support to young female surfers. For the moment, the brand is specifically supporting Déguène Thioune, a promising young athlete in the Surfkids programme, by providing her with suitable equipment. This partnership contributes to her comfort, protection and progress in surfing, while encouraging women’s surfing in Senegal.
Rebel Fins
As a manufacturer of surfboards, Rebel Fins supports several young athletes in the Surfkids programme by providing them with high-performance equipment to improve their technique and surfing experience. The brand is currently supporting Khady Kane, Cherif Diop, Aita Diop and Déguène Thioune, enabling them to progress with quality equipment. This partnership plays a key role in their progress and performance in competition.

API Afrique
As a social enterprise committed to the empowerment of women and sustainable development, API Afrique supports Surfkids by helping the young girls in the programme to become more independent. Through awareness-raising activities, workshops and concrete initiatives, this partnership reinforces Surfkids’ commitment to gender equality and the education of young girls through sport.
The Surfkids Shredding Senegal project has been able to grow and offer more and more activities to the children, also thanks to the financial support we receive from several funders for specific projects. We would like to take this opportunity to thank all the stakeholders and selection committees who have placed their trust in us and with whom we work on a daily basis to improve our programme.
Impact 2024 International 4th edition – AFD x Impact 2024 x La Guilde
We are honoured to have been chosen as the winners of the 4ᵉ edition of the Impact 2024 International call for projects, a programme funded by Agence Française de Développement in collaboration with the Paris 2024 Olympic Games and operated by La Guilde. This first major funding round marked a key stage in the development of Surfkids Shredding Senegal, enabling us to amplify our impact with young people. Thanks to this support, we have been able to send more children to school, provide girls with a safe environment in which to join our activities, and accompany several young people through to graduation, opening up employment opportunities in the surfing sector. This award is a real recognition of our commitment and reinforces our determination to pursue our mission of education, professional integration and the promotion of gender equality through surfing.

Laureus Sport For Good
Before winning the Laureus Sports for Good Foundation’s call for projects, we had the opportunity to travel to South Africa several times to take part in training courses with other associations committed to using sport as a lever for social change. These exchanges have been a real source of enrichment, enabling us to deepen our expertise and improve our practices. These experiences have laid the foundations for our current work, refining our approach to surfing as a tool for inclusion, education and empowerment. Thanks to this collaboration, we have strengthened our impact on the ground and have been able to continue to offer both personal and professional development opportunities to the young people of Surfkids Shredding Senegal.
France Volontaire x Ambassade de France : French Volunteer Day 2024
We are proud to have won the France Volontaire and the French Embassy’s call for JEEF projects at the Journée du Volontariat Français 2024, which took place in Saint-Louis, Senegal. At this event, we presented our project entitled ‘Girls and surfing in Dakar – A wave of hope’, which was selected as the winner. Thanks to this support, we have been able to expand our range of activities specifically for girls, offering them a safe and suitable environment in which to develop their surfing skills. The funding has also enabled us to set up 100% female training courses, empowering young girls and building their confidence in sport. This project is an integral part of our mission to promote gender equality and personal development through surfing.
