Context, Issues and Culture
Senegal boasts exceptional surfing conditions. Its geographical location and diverse coastline expose it to swells from both north and south. But despite this, the activity remains underdeveloped in the country: lack of funding for niche sports like surfing is a common problem in Senegal. Surfers also have great difficulty in finding local equipment (boards, wetsuits, accessories) at affordable prices.
Having your own board and a winter wetsuits without holes is a real privilege for local surfers.
This board in the picture here was repaired many times and it was surfed by three kids at the same period.
We strive to engage children and youth in surfing competitions both nationally and internationally, as we believe that competing is an excellent way to grow and learn how to handle defeats and victories.
